南方草草 Kanadun Caucau Festival 2023, Taitung, Taiwan

With the backdrop of a deep blue ocean, a clear sky, and subtropical forests, Jinlun village stands as a vibrant home to the Paiwan people. "Kanadun Caucau 2023" is an annual festival held under the warmth of Taitung’s summer sun. These digital painting collection captures the essence of the lively local living, where multiethnic specialty and delicacies, as well as indigenous traditions are celebrated.

Through my experiences in Jinlun, I've come to understand that the indigenous people strive to preserve their cultural identity amidst the challenges of the modern world. This collection not only reflects their vibrant cultural expressions but also their seamless integration of traditional and contemporary lifestyles. These pieces illustrate the profound connection between the community, the rhythms of daily life, and the rich ecology that envelops them.
